International Engineering Week 2018

Wachsenburg Castle

Wednesday, December 12, 2018.

Today was a pretty complete day. It started with the lecture from Prof. Dominico, "Vehicle safety with focus on Airbag Sensing". Then we head to Arnstadt, where we visit two companies: AWM AG and BorgWarner. Afterwards we went to the Christmas Market in Erfurt. And ended the day with a dinner at the Wachsenburg Castle and a great show.

We hope you have also had a good time!

Schmalkalden Christmas Market

Tuesday, December 11, 2018.

The day started with the first lectures of the week. At first "Influence of shielding gas in the welding process" with Prof. Abreu and "A damper device based on shape memory alloy wires" with Prof. Iasnii.

Followed by "Wind Turbines Introduction" with Prof. Hristov and "Design of control system for battery pole plate rolling mill based on S7-1500" with Prof. Defang. Between these two lectures we had a break, where we could enjoy a hot cup of coffee or tee.

In the evening we all walked together to the town center, in Schmalkalden. We visit the town hall where the mayor welcomes us with his traditional speech. Then we enjoyed a beautiful organ concert. We also had the opportunity to climb the church tower and see the Christmas Market from another point of view. And to finish the day, we drank Gl├╝hwein at the Schmalkalden Christmas Market sponsored from the mayor.

The 8th IEW has officially started!!

Monday, December 10, 2018.

The music and the welcome speeches were the best way to start the 8th International Engineering Week. Thanks to Prof. Kolev for welcoming us and for the great presentation.

And what better way to end the day than playing Bowling and meeting new people.

We hope you have had a great time and that you enjoy the rest of the week.
